Toledo Mudhens & Walleye
If sports are your thing, look no further than the Toledo Mudhens and Walleye. The Toledo Mudhens are the farm team to the Detroit Tigers and play at Fifth-Third Field, named one of the best sports venues nationally. The Toledo Walleye bring hard-hitting hockey excitement to the Huntington Center, which also hosts a variety of concerts and events.
Maumee River/Lake Erie
Boating and fishing a bound. Positioned on the Maumee River and Lake Erie, the Toledo region boasts numerous water-based activities. The Maumee River is home to a nationally recognized walleye run every spring and provides a gentle ride for kayakers and canoeists. Lake Erie is considered the “Walleye Capital” and provides opportunities for sailors and powerboaters alike with destinations including Kelley’s Island and Put-in-Bay.
Cedar Point
Known as “America’s Roller Coast”, Cedar Point is located a short drive from Toledo. The amusement park features a world-record 72 rides, including 16 roller coasters. The 364-acre park is located on a Lake Erie peninsula in Sandusky, Ohio.
